Pygeum Extract

People most commonly use pygeum for treating symptoms of enlarged prostate (BPH). It is also used for fever, malaria, kidney disease, and many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these other uses.

Saw palmetto Extract

Saw palmetto (Serenoa repens) is a tree that grows up to 10 feet tall with thorn-shaped leaves arranged like a fan. Its ripe fruit is used to make medicine.

Saw palmetto seems to lower the amount of pressure on the tubes that carry urine in males. Saw palmetto also might prevent testosterone from being converted to a more potent form called dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Reduced levels of DHT might help prevent some types of hair loss.

People commonly use saw palmetto for symptoms of an enlarged prostate called benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH). But it doesn’t seem to improve this condition. Saw palmetto is also used to prevent complications from prostate surgery and for treating other prostate conditions, male-pattern baldness, sexual dysfunction, and many other purposes, but there is no good scientific evidence to support most of these uses.

Milk Thistle Extract

Milk thistle is used to treat liver diseases and in managing urinary disorders. It is known to be anti-inflammatory and as a supportive treatment for death cap mushroom poisoning. According to a study1, Silibinin, a compound extracted from the seeds of Milk Thistle, is a potent AntiViral Agent in patients with Chronic Hepatitis C not responding to the usual Interferon therapy. Furthermore, there is clear evidence for its use as a supportive element in alcoholic and child grade ‘A liver cirrhosis2. In 2011, the European Commission granted the Orphan Medicinal Product Designation to silibinin-c2’3-dihydrogensuccinate disodium salt synthesized from milk thistle extract to prevent the recurrence of hepatitis C in liver transplant recipients3.

Ginko Biloba Extract

Ginkgo improves blood flow to the brain and acts as an antioxidant. These effects may translate into some benefits for certain medical problems, but the results have been mixed.

Some studies have found that in healthy people, ginkgo might modestly boost memory and cognitive speed. Other studies have not found a benefit.

Several ginkgo studies have shown that it can help with memory problems caused by dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. It seems to help prevent the progression of dementia symptoms, especially if the dementia is thought to be the result of atherosclerotic vascular disease. It does not seem to prevent dementia or Alzheimer

Lycopene DC powder – katra Phytochem

Lycopene suggested uses include for cancer, preventing atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, prostate cancer, human papillomavirus (HPV) infection, cataracts, asthma, antioxidant, and as an anti-inflammatory. There is no association between lycopene and the risk of bladder and colon cancers.

Lutein is commonly taken by mouth to prevent eye diseases, including cataracts and a disease that leads to vision loss in older adults (age-related macular degeneration or AMD). Lutein is used for many other conditions, but there is no good scientific evidence to support these other uses.

Zeaxanthin 5%, 10%

Zeaxanthin helps build a yellow-colored pigment shield to protect the eye cells from the harmful effects of certain light sources, such as the sun. It also protects the eyes from dangerous free radicals that form over time from oxidation.
